Synopsis of Event

Penang Peace Dialogue

The Penang Peace Dialogue aims to bring key global leaders to discuss new paradigms for the emerging multipolar world with individuals from different socioeconomic strata and cultural backgrounds. Southeast Asia is an ideal location for civilisational cooperation and Penang has a long history of collaborating in global trade and manufacturing supply chains. The peace dialogue emerged from the discussion at the CWC conference 2025. Art is a catalyst for peace and therefore we are organizing an Art for Peace competition in 2026 involving students from Southeast Asia and Hong Kong. The winning entries will be presented with prizes at the PPD.

The CWC project, International Youth Space Academy plans to engage students on the ethics of peaceful collaboration for outer space exploration and commercialization. This project is planned with cosmonaut trainers from the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. The voyages of Zheng He, a key highlight of the conference, sets the stage for the PPD. Penang is part of the ancient maritime silk road connecting East and West with many settlers living together in harmony and developing peacefully for centuries.

Today, Penang, George Town is best known globally as a UNESCO World Heritage destination, where tourists from all over the world experience the living heritage of a vibrant and harmonious civilizational melting pot. A burgeoning segment, medical tourism is an important driver of the local economy. The CWC will hold Integrative Medicine Asia in conjunction with the PPD to further advance the mainstreaming of integrative medicine as a medical specialty in ASEAN. Integrative Medicine merges conventional approaches with traditional modalities resulting in cost effective strategies for public health. Penang is where the world meets Asia and where dialogues for peaceful coexistence of all civilisations are both tradition and future.

The central questions at the PPD are:

“Is the world a better place with globalisation and how will a multicivilizational transition be different?”  “Is UN reform necessary or possible and how can individuals play a role in this process?”

The PPD is open to all by invitation with limited seats. Members of academic institutions and think tanks, as well as lay members of the public to present an abstract of their academic paper on how Southeast Asia can play a role in preserving peace in the emerging multipolar world. Presentation slots are limited
